Harmful Effects of Tea

The only negative side effect reported from drinking green tea is insomnia because tea contains caffeine. However, green tea contains less caffeine than coffee, approximately 30-60 mg of caffeine in 6-8 ounces of tea, compared to over 100 mg in 8 ounces of coffee.

However, too much tannic acid will affect the secretion of the gastric juice and irritate the membrane of the stomach. Strong tea taken just before bedtime will give rise to occasional insomnia. Constant drinking of over-strong tea may induce heart and blood-pressure disorders in some people, reduce the milk of a breast-feeding mothe and cause brown color on the teeth of young people.

In 1994, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly 60%. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Therefore, start drinking tea from today to keep you healthy and beauty always!!!
